COMMUNITY socials are gatherings to introduce families in the community to one another.
November 2018: Family Fall Festival
COMMUNITY hosted a family fall festival to appreciate its generous members and volunteers. With over 150 attendees, the event had a lot of fun activities for everyone in attendance.
Attendees decorated greeting cards, pumpkins, gingerbread houses, and cupcakes; had their names written in beautiful calligraphy; made a couple of no-sew fleece blankets; competed to see who could eat a donut the fastest using no hands; took a stab at Kid Fit NJ's obstacle course; made beautiful butterfly art with Garden State Discovery Museum, and enjoyed some great music from GP Entertainment!
March 2018: Movie Night
COMMUNITY showed UPF’s Enemy of the Reich at the Mount Laurel Library, a true story about a young Muslim woman in Nazi-occupied Paris who joined Winston Churchill’s covert operation to give the Allies a chance at victory.
April 2017: Resettled Refugees Welcomed to the Region
South Jersey residents packed into the Cherry Hill Skating and Fun Center on April 30 to welcome Syrian refugees who recently resettled in the region. COMMUNITY organized the fun-filled "Family Night," which included roller skating, pizza, and transportation for 85 refugee guests who were warmly received by over one hundred of their new neighbors.
