COMMUNITY SJP wrapped up 2020 by fulfilling wishlists for a few local families ahead of the holiday season.

October 2020

CSJP provided 280 candy bags to local children through Ethel Lawrence Homes in Mount Laurel, Providence House in Westampton, and a local friend in Camden. Since the kids weren't able to trick or treat this year, this was a great way to surprise them!

June 2020

When the school year abruptly converted into at-home learning, CSJP was determined to continue working with Camden's Mastery McGraw Elementary School. Due to our generous donors, we were able to pull together close to 400 goodie bags, along with numerous toy and book donations, to distribute to students at the year-end drive by parade. A special thanks to our youngest volunteer, Lilia, who very excitedly filled each bag with bubbles, candies, and pencils! Fozia, Lena, and Yusif attended the parade on behalf of CSJP to distribute the goodies. Seeing the students' smiling faces made it all worth it!

June 2019

COMMUNITY SJP provided over 200 goodie bags to kids celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, the Islamic religious holiday following the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast everyday from dawn to dusk. In many Muslim countries, Eid is celebrated for three days. Eid traditionally starts with a morning prayer, followed by a short sermon. After the prayer, Muslims wish those around them a happy Eid. People typically spend their holiday visiting relatives and friends, wearing traditional clothes, giving gifts or money to children, and donating to charity. Each goodie bag included: a deck of cards, bubbles, pencils, erasers, and an assortment of candies.
