Food Drive
March 1, 2021 - March 21, 2021
COMMUNITY SJP is collecting non-perishable foods to provide grocery bags to local families in Ethel Lawrence Homes in Mount Laurel, NJ. We are so excited to partner with Diverse Professionals Real Estate Group on this initiative!
Ethel Robinson Lawrence was a civil rights activist who served as the lead plaintiff in the Mt Laurel, NJ litigation for affordable housing. These efforts led to the NJ Fair Housing Act, the NJ Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) and the Mt Laurel doctrine. In her final years, Lawrence worked closely with attorney Peter O’Connor to start the nonprofit organization Fair Share Housing Development Inc., which built over 200 units for moderate- to low-income tenants in Mt Laurel.
Providing families and those in need with healthy food options and supplies has becoming increasingly important during these difficult times, when resources are scarce and availability of food and household items are limited. With your help and contributions, we plan to provide meal packages for families in the community.
Items must be delivered by Sunday, March 21st! Please contact [email protected] to coordinate drop off.
As you know, our events are 100% volunteer driven and we fully rely on our generous donors to make our events possible. Please consider making a donation towards the items purchased for our events.
