DESCRIPTION:COMMUNITY SJP is collecting non-perishable foods to provide grocery bags to local families in Ethel Lawrence Homes in Mount Laurel\, NJ. We are so excited to partner with Diverse Professionals Real Estate Group on this initiative! \nEthel Robinson Lawrence was a civil rights activist who served as the lead plaintiff in the Mt Laurel\, NJ litigation for affordable housing. These efforts led to the NJ Fair Housing Act\, the NJ Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) and the Mt Laurel doctrine. In her final years\, Lawrence worked closely with attorney Peter O’Connor to start the nonprofit organization Fair Share Housing Development Inc.\, which built over 200 units for moderate- to low-income tenants in Mt Laurel. \nProviding families and those in need with healthy food options and supplies has becoming increasingly important during these difficult times\, when resources are scarce and availability of food and household items are limited. With your help and contributions\, we plan to provide meal packages for families in the community. \nItems must be delivered by Sunday\, March 21st! Please contact communitysjp@gmail.com to coordinate drop off. \nMonetary donations can also be made via PayPal and Venmo.

Adults and children (ages 9+) can collectively combat blanket shortages at this event. Children ages 12+ can prepare a blanket on their own with minimal guidance. Children ages 9-11 can prepare a blanket with help from an adult. Although this is a great way to engage children to give back to the community\, we will need an adequate number of adults to assist our youth volunteers. Each blanket will take ~1 hour to assemble in full. DESCRIPTION:Join us in making no-sew fleece blankets for local communities. This project engages individuals and families in a fun\, hands on activity which involves little to no skill. Adults and children (ages 9+) can collectively combat blanket shortages at this event. Children ages 12+ can prepare a blanket on their own with minimal guidance. Children ages 9-11 can prepare a blanket with help from an adult. Although this is a great way to engage children to give back to the community\, we will need an adequate number of adults to assist our youth volunteers.
