January 2022

We had a very productive MLK Day of Service at CSJP. Over 80 volunteers showed up over the span of 2 hours to assemble 100 care packages for patients of Cherry Hill Free Clinic, assemble 44 no sew fleece blankets, and fill 158 adult and kids socks with goodies. Simultaneously, ZZ Dance was hard at work assembling over 350 bagged lunches for Joseph's House of Camden! They also collected snacks, water, fruit, granola bars, juice, water, nuts, trail mix, and more!

January to December 2021

We had another successful year of our blanket and stuff a sock train. Generous volunteers spent countless hours at home assembling no sew fleece blankets and stuffing socks with snacks for the less fortunate. These efforts helped almost 800 people throughout the year!

August 2021

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and a wonderful partnership with The Original Hot Dog Factory in Voorhees, COMMUNITY SJP provided a record number of school bags and supplies to students this year! 528 backpacks were assembled over the span of 2 hours by close to 70 volunteers this afternoon. The backpacks were donated to 13 different schools in Mount Laurel, Camden, Voorhees, and Philadelphia. A huge thank you to everyone for donating your time and resources to help us accomplish this goal!! Each student received the following: a book bag, notebooks, pencils, pens, a pencil pouch, an eraser,  a highlighter, a pencil sharpener, a ruler, colored pencils, glue sticks, a folder, sanitizing wet wipes, and tissues.

August 2020

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, COMMUNITY SJP provided 155 school bags and supplies to students this year! Bags were distributed to Grover Washington Jr. Middle School in Philadelphia and and via Jersey Cares in South Jersey. Each student received the following: a book bag, notebooks, pencils, pens, a pencil pouch, an eraser,  a highlighter, a pencil sharpener, a ruler, colored pencils, glue sticks, a folder, sanitizing wet wipes, and tissues.

February 2020

January 2020

Over 100 volunteers in total spent 2 weekends assembling over 35 no-sew fleece blankets and stuffing over 400 socks with snacks. These items were distributed to The Extended Hands Ministry, Grover Washington Jr. Middle School, at Youth Service, Inc.​, and Bancroft. 

December 2019

Over 50 volunteers spent their afternoon assembling 547 bagged lunches with bagels and cream cheese, as well as stuffing socks with snacks for homeless people. The meals were distributed to Project Home in Philadelphia, The Extended Hands Ministry in Mount Holly, and throughout neighborhoods in Camden. The socks were distributed to Joseph's House of CamdenA big thanks to the following for their generous bagel donations: The Bagel ZoneVictoria’s Bagel Bistro,​ and K&A Bagel Cafe

November 2019

We spent the afternoon at the Moorestown Mall celebrating Family Volunteer Day with the Volunteer Center of South Jersey. Many volunteers stopped by throughout the day to learn about our mission and assist with some projects. We made a couple of no-sew fleece blankets, and we stuffed 80 pairs of socks with snacks and candy. These items were distributed to The Extended Hands Ministry in Mount Holly.

October 2019

Over 25 volunteers spent a Sunday afternoon assembling 32 no-sew fleece blankets. These blankets were distributed to Learn with Me Daycare, Grover Washington Jr. Middle School, and Providence House.

August 2019

COMMUNITY SJP provided 50 students at Grover Washington Jr. Middle School in Philadelphia, PA. Each student received the following: book bag, composition notebook, pencils, 3-ring binder, loose-leaf paper, glue sticks, and a folder.

COMMUNITY SJP held a two-day Mother's Day Spa Event at Providence House, a domestic violence service center. Thanks to our volunteer beauticians, women received facials, henna, mini-manicures, and makeovers! Thanks to our donors, we were able to assemble 30 gift bags loaded with all sorts of beauty products and chocolates! We thank the following beauticians for devoting their time to help spread joy to survivors of domestic violence.

March 2019

Over 50 volunteers spent a Saturday afternoon assembling 13 no-sew fleece blankets to go with 60 care packages for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Penn Hematology/Oncology and Virtua​'s Infusion Center in Voorhees. The dedicated volunteers also helped assemble 100 hygiene kits for foster children in South Jersey and for children at Youth Service, Inc.​ in Philadelphia.

Over the span of 3 hours, 50+ volunteers spent their Saturday afternoon assembling 35 no-sew fleece blankets. These blankets were distributed to The Recovery Chair, Providence House, and local families in need.

COMMUNITY SJP assisted Artis Senior Living of Evesham at their day of beauty for the residents. We provided makeovers, jewelry, and glamour shots to make the residents feel extra special for one day.

Over the span of 3 hours, 50 volunteers spent their Saturday afternoon assembling 27 no-sew fleece blankets. The blankets were distributed to the homeless and those in need.

November 2017

On Thanksgiving weekend, 25 no-sew blankets were assembled by a hard-working group of over 40 volunteers. These blankets will be distributed to CHOP, Providence HouseWomen Against Abuse, and Cathedral Kitchen.

COMMUNITY SJP, in conjunction with Fearless Beauty, hosted a day at the salon for Syrian refugee women. 36 women were pampered with haircuts and blow dries, provided lunch, and given gift bags from both organizations.

Looking in the mirror after her cut and blowdry, she said, “I wondered, who is this woman?”
